Engineering Manager

Job description

- Design, implement and refine manufacturing process based on quality, sustainability and safety requirements and reaching a target labor cost, maintenance cost, automation ratio and maximum capacity represented and compliant with the industrial layout defined and deployed. - Design process based on Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping and MUDA hunting concepts, optimizing change-over time, maintenance time, setup-time, labor cost and minimizing non-value added activities; as well as FMEA tool (reverse and forward) to ensure no quality risks are incurred from early stages of Process design. - Monitor and provides feedback for Product Design Validation based on Design For Manufacturability criteria, providing detailed reports and analysis on the impact of the product design on labor cost, reliability and manufacturability for each Samples Batch that is manufactured during Design Validation stage. - Ensure that detailed Machine Manuals and Specifications are provided, which must include list of spare parts, setup, start-up procedure and list of instructions with description to operate the machine. - Participate together with Production and Maintenance in the process of definition of the Preventive Maintenance Plan for the related process, using as a base the Machine Manuals and Specifications and with the aim to transfer the knowledge and update any lessons learnt to improve Machine design optimized for maintenance simplification, cost reduction and minimization of machine downtime. - Communicates with Corporate Engineering and exchange in CAPEX definition meetings to prepare investment proposals for industrialization of new projects and participate in Global Layout definition for new projects. - Source, evaluate and develop suppliers for machinery focused in machine construction based on the designs for structure and mechanical, electrical diagrams and software provided by Premo’s engineering department itself with a cost improvement and technology development approach. - Define and follow up Yearly Automation Plan subject to VAVE target for productivity improvement to be implemented in present Layout and aligned with Corporate Engineering Strategy based on Robotization, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Vision, Intralogistics, Cleanliness and Connectivity for Traceability and MES systems. - Manage staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel. Leads teams in the development of new processes. Oversees projects and resource allocation with leadership during Industrialization Stage. - Ensure Industrialization and Automation Projects are executed achieving target budget and target deadline defined. - All responsibilities of hierarchy depending positions according approved Organization Chart. * Accountability: - Process design documents release (approval Machine specification, PDCC, etc…) - Production Trial Run Summary review and approval - Yearly labor budget VAVE and labor achievement - Yearly automation target (robot, camera, etc…) achievement - DFM indicator in PDCCs for quotation - Industrialization projects budget and timeline preparation and fulfillment - Yearly CAPEX budget for industrialization preparation
